In my head, Ivan has told Meg, Mindy, and Robin about the route they're taking offscreen. I'll often skip these kind of knowledge sharing conversations to avoid overdosing on plot exposition, but I do run the risk of having the characters seem like they are jumping to conclusions or know things they shouldn't.
