These kinds of arguments are awkward, but I think it helps that Mindy and her mother don’t really yell at or insult each other. They’re able to act like mature adults, which hopefully will be less painful to read over the next few pages. I don’t want to veer too hard into heavy drama, but I do want my main characters to have proper arcs and at least some complexity.
