I always worry about showing new magic tricks because it begs the question "why didn't they use that before when it would have been useful?" At least for the crossover I have the excuse of "not enough mana in the past for that one".

Come to think of it, Mortagast probably only learned Time Ball recently as part of his study of the time travel spell that brought him here.
