A couple notes worth mentioning…

Kaida's family photo. Adorable. I especially love Tristan's expression, and the fact that the only one looking at the camera is Kaida's mom. One of the first proofs of Kaida's complex nature is the fact that she keeps a family photo near the cash register. Not such a dark toughie; are you, Kaida?

Second note is about Mike. I told you I have a bad habit of having all my seemingly minor characters stick around. I want to comment on the name. When "nondescript henchman" reappeared, I knew Seiko had to call him by name, because it is in the very depths of her nature to do so. So what name did I draw out of the air? Mike. Why Mike? That's simple. 50% of the men I currenly know are named Mike. We used to have a roommate named Mike (in addition to me, Gael, Bethany, my sister, and Mike's wife – yes, a lovely household…) And a different Mike visits us often. Plus, there is a graduate student named Mike (yet another Mike) whom I work with. However, I'd like to note that every Mike I know is some form of geek, no thugs or henchmen. ;-)
