This is one of those unplanned pages. My "setup chapter" (this one) was a little too short in my mind, and I wasn't sure how much plot to fit into it. I also didn't know whom to follow first (Seiko or Kaida). Well, when I sat down to draw, I ended up with this page – and a third element to this story arc: Tristan alone in the book store in his sister's absence. (For the record, Tristan rewrites many of my planned story arcs. That boy never does what I tell him to.) That said, I love this page. I'm a sucker for drawing emotion, and Jiro is a character into whose psyche we seldom delve.

Oh, and I want to remind you to check out Off Hours, a collaboration from several very talented DD artists/writers (and me, lol) where the "actors" from our comics are hanging out off the set – including Kaida and Fudo. ;-)

blntmaker: I'm happy to know someone is reading the Character Bios. They were fun to write.

LanceDanger: Of course, I love animals. That's why I got my degrees in biology. ^_^

Peipei: She's going as much for recreation as to help out. Seiko hasn't gotten to see much of Alex lately.

dueeast: I consider myself terribly behind on my updates rather than far ahead on my comic. lol

trevoramueller: Alas, I have no dog. I'd like one someday, though. I like most all animals.
