When I was designing Ronnie's character, I pictured him as a foil and nemesis for Tristan. (I really wanted Tristan to have his own "arch nemesis/rival.") Both are thieves, same age, similar appearance, even worked together. – But Ronnie ended up meeting Alex and holding a grudge against him instead. So, my characters chose to rewrite my story again.

I don't think this action is unpredictable. With the rain, Alex couldn't get across the river, and he pulls a "sneak attack" on Ronnie – again. On the other hand, he just saved Fudo, which is not expected of Alex.

LanceDanger: It's three against one. Ronnie doesn't stand a chance. ;-)

Peipei: Ronnie doesn't like Seiko or Alex since they put him in jail.

JustNoPoint: lol. They definitely do – at least with each other. Then again, it is harder to converse after the shot. Bullets make better periods than commas.

n_y_japlander: So true. Seiko is very sensitive when witnessing death, regardless of the person involved.
