Candid conversations are always a little awkward and uncomfortable, but it strengthens friendships and is really a relief, especially for soft-spoken individuals. People are bringing up a lot of old memories today. It can be a painful but helpful exercise.

I apologize for the poor pacing in this chapter. I had a lot of things to fit in (for the sake of future events) but no good transitions. (Transitions are a big weakness for me.) I know it feels disjointed and conversations seem… unfinished. The truth is, these issues are the types that get touched on and then quickly tucked away again. If nothing else, my lack of transitions might help with that awkward "change the subject" mood.

n_y_japlander & Lonnehart: They aren't yet ready to delve back into that case. That's all I can tell you right now. ;-)

LanceDanger: I've never heard that saying before, but it has a lot of truth in it.

Peipei: Kaida doesn't like him either – though Brad might have other motivation in addition to watching out for a friend. ^_~

JNP: I think most people have experienced that. It has happened to me a few times. You want to be happy for them, but it feels like being doused in cold water.

trev: Part of my influence was the Roseanne finale. Her imagination replaced death with infidelity. Part of it is being angry at the deceased for "leaving" you.

amanda: Yes… I'm not sure that would have been socially acceptable. lol
