This page explains Kaida's "strange" behavior around Raidon. "May I" Kaida was not the true Kaida. Her relationship with Raidon was forged in fear and maintained by obedience. Fudo knew this – remember that he joined up in the first place only to protect her from Raidon, which might be why Raidon had been so insistent on keeping them apart.

My feet hurt SO much. Ugh. I'm glad to have work, but it's really taxing. I miss teaching. I hope I can land a university job soon.
