After all that, Seiko is stuck walking (or attempting to hitchhike). I liked planning the scenery for the first panel. I wanted to make it feel very empty/forgotten, so it's a small gravel road with a weathered campsite sign (and even camping is 5 miles away). I've seen a lot of places like this one when I was growing up.

ghostrunner: Don't want its contents getting wet after all that.

n_y_japlander: Fudo hasn't discovered too many practical uses for his talents. XD

LanceDanger: Thanks. I like that one a lot.

Locoma: In my original draft, Seiko told Kaida she was dropping off some things for charity. Though my script changed, taking a box of stuff *somewhere* is less suspicious than taking a backpack and returning without it. – The tree said "Kaida + Fudo 4 Ever," but the "Kaida" was scratched out.

Tantz: Deep down, she was a little disappointed that he *wasn't* there, which is why she was slow to leave.

Molly: Thanks. ^_^ He may not be as grateful as one would think.

Peipei: Seems pretty doubtful at this point, but you never know. They used to be very close, after all.

amanda: Hee hee. It used to say Kaida + Fudo. ;-) I like Fudo's house. It's fun to draw and a contrast to all the city places.

trevor: My original brainstorming pages have huge lists/paragraphs for Kaida and Yuki but very little about Seiko, so I got to know her through the story. I feel like she created herself, in a way. ;-)

JustNoPoint: 'Tis an old carving. It used to say "Kaida + Fudo 4 Ever." (Only one part of that particular homage needed to be violently scratched out. Lol)
