Gael and I have wanted to try one of those "mystery trains" some time. We just haven't worked out scheduling or finances yet. (I do know where there is one nearby-ish.)

Kaida is a full decade older than Seiko, so the "coddling" she speaks of is very much unwelcome. Plus, the poor woman barely gets a moment to herself anymore. You should recall Brigit as Alex's sister-in-law. We see the couple (as Brigit is never without Ricky) only from time to time. We last saw them at Carter's funeral. Just in case you forget, Alex's family (and Brigit's) are on the higher end of middle class. so they have friends with yachts and summer houses and other fancy things.

Peipei: Technically, only Kaida works there, but it does seem like a nice job. My friend Gael would love to run a bookstore.

n_y_japlander: Gotta be suspicious of a real "cake" job. However, aside from the setting, this one is probably not that fun.
