This flashback is a direct follow-up to Toyo's flashback in chapter 36. If you were reading this story all in one go, you could (theoretically) recognize Kaida's bag as the one she was using to run away from home – and Fudo's hairstyle is a good hint at the timeline too. (Fudo and Kaida were 22 and 17 respectively.) Originally, I had planned to have Raidon's arm around Kaida, as he is/was very "touchy," but I couldn't work it in with the angle.

Btw, Kaida didn't "recognize" Fudo in the hospital. ;-) She is struggling with memory issues, and minds tend to wander in waiting rooms…
