This page had a lot of smudges and smears, so it required serious digital resuscitation. I had to redraw most of the speech bubbles too, despite the fact that I didn't change any of the dialogue. Sometimes I have to do that because I wrote too small or crooked when I drew the page. (In my other comic project, I draw all the bubbles and text in digitally, so the only trick is to remember to make room for them.)

Also, I finally drew the cover art for the next volume of my book! (I publish through CafePress for my family.) It took me forever to come up with a concept. You can see it here. I drew and colored it all today. ^_^

amanda: Peer pressure? ;-) It's probably just because she is in a group, which lends not only a casual atmosphere but also safety. – It was actually less of a coincidence in my original script, because I originally had Kaida suggest it. It is a place they frequent, and Mike works there. (That part was cut just to save time/space.)

DAJB: It's probably a secret to *him.* Mike has a habit of being very mysterious. He probably just told Tristan he needed someone to stand in for him at work and withheld any other details.

Peipei: Not a likely scenario for Mike. He just received a fairly savage beating for the one time he did kill someone. -_- (Plus, he's not the "cold-blooded" type. When he resorts to violence, there is a lot of emotion behind it.)

LanceDanger: I'm actually surprised no one has guessed what Mike is preoccupied with. You'll find out soon enough. (Not really flower-related. ;-) )

Warpedwenger: Have some! :-) (I don't like coffee. You can have mine.)

Tantz: Awe. Poor untrustworthy criminals.

patrick: Insomnia is more of a condition than a vice… Though vices (especially caffeine!!) can contribute, compound, or even cause it. (Tristan is talking about medical insomnia, not the silly people who stay up all night deliberately and call themselves insomniacs.)

ghostrunner: Thanks.

roycemarie: Kaida isn't really objecting. Her little brother just never talks to her like that. (She used to intimidate him – or try to.)

BetaJess: Interesting job. :-) He's a waiter too, but I'm sure one has to take on many jobs during the graveyard shift.
