Ultimately, my sister helped me with the poses (she and her BF have the same height difference) and JNP helped with expressions and lighting, but my biggest and first concern was whether to draw a close-up or full picture. (My plan was to make a splash page.) I eventually decided to do two panels instead of a splash page. I was inspired by a kiss in Detective Conan (incidentally, involving a character partly after whom I modeled Tristan). I think this makes more impact than a splash page, and adding a second panel helps dilate time.

Speaking of time… My plane leaves Tuesday, so this is the last update until I get back. I was going to sneak in another page before leaving, but with my page numbering (there is a "page turn" after this) and story flow, it makes more sense to pause on this. Plus, I got a call earlier this week and have to leave today for a trip to WV for a job interview. We have to race the weather to get back in time for my flight – and before the snow storm imprisons us in the mountains.

The story will return to regular updates on Feb. 16th.

JNP: I drew this months ago! V-day has nothing to do with it. :-P Branch breakage would be hilarious, and is definitely my usual MO. But I decided to make it a twist this time by *not* interrupting with disaster or hilarity.
