The dialogue here was drastically abridged for the sake of pacing. I kinda miss the extra lines, which I think are fun, but unnecessary.

ALEX: Ronnie's really dead? You saw the body?
SEIKO: Ew. No. His mother identified him.
ALEX: It's hard to picture a guy like that having a mother. She really dropped the ball on raising him.
SEIKO: As a rule, I try not to speak ill of the dead.
ALEX: It's kinda weird. I don't have an arch nemesis anymore.
KAIDA: No high school student should.
ALEX: Oh, didn't I mention it? I'm going to college! – I needed only two more credits, so I got them this summer.
KAIDA: That's impressive.
ALEX: Not really. I'm just catching up. I was held back from starting kindergarten because I had pneumonia.
KAIDA: So, are you going into the ivy league?
ALEX: Nah. The university. I want to stay close to home.
