My script had Brandon make this call from his bedroom and has stage directions like closing and locking his door. I decided that having him retreat to the backyard made more sense – and would be more atmospheric.

It was after I drew the page that it dawned on me this is set in winter, and Brandon is going to get quite a chill. :P But the outfit still fits his personality. If he's anything like my brother, he thinks coats and shoes are for chumps.
