My script had Alex volunteering the information while Kaida was speechless, but I decided it was out of character to have him act without her prompting. She was about to ask him to retrieve the books for Gibson anyway.

Kaida was arranging to give Gibson the books when Val stepped onto that scene. He adds chaos, which is Meredith’s forte and is what places her at odds with Raidon. One working title I didn’t use for this arc was “Raidon vs. Meredith” (an extension of “Raidon vs. Dirk,” the bigger arc).

KimLuster: The art of complete-concise-natural is difficult at the best of times. Sometimes it works on two of those points, but not usually on the first (or third) draft. :P
