Ashley Part 3: Drunken Sailor

Panel two was one of the most difficult panels I’ve ever drawn from step one (researching setting) all the way through. Also, the lines were all wonky in my pencil drawing. Just for interest, here’s the original scan before the digital editing:



I wrote the script for this arc with no chapter breaks, so I’m making those up as I go along. It makes subtitles really frustrating. I stumbled through a bunch before the obvious hit me.

One final note today. The name on Jack’s boat is “Satisfaction.” Same name as Captain Morgan’s ship, discovered buried off the coast of NC in 2011. Just another pointless, throwaway detail I put way too much thought into.
