There's an episode of Detective Conan where the group (Conan, Ran, and the suspects du jour) approach a ski cabin where the group will be staying. Conan notices the icicles on the cabin and finds it suspicious because the cabin was supposed to be empty. I had never given much thought to icicles or where they come from until I saw that episode. So, I'm using that motif in reverse.
