This whole operation stinks!
I think I'll adopt that as my catch phrase.

While it's certainly true that these two miscreants bear similarities to Mssrs. Klump and Shlubb of Sin City, I think they bear closer similarities to Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. At least in terms of their personalities and interaction. But maybe I just have Fafhrd and the Mouser on the brain because I've been rereading Leiber while I've been drawing Chuck and Ernie.
