Even for 2011, this strip seems so horribly dated now. Vampire Hunter using a landline phone (albeit a cordless one)? Goofy Idiot Sidekick playing with a wired controller? It's like they're living in the Stone Age here! I would also like to apologize for the poor quality of many of these older strips: not only did Smack Jeeves have a rather small file size limit (2 or 5MB, IIRC), but back then, my computer at the time was on the verge of dying, so I was unable to save or back up high-quality versions of the strips.
Anyway, I hesitate to call these two actual villains, because in a sense, they really aren't . . . in fact, I believe they would be what TV Tropes would call Hero Antagonists, because even though their mission is to destroy an innocent vampire who did nothing to them like Levana, in their minds, they're doing something for the greater good of mankind . . . maybe that makes them a pair of Well-Intentioned Extremists as well, I'm not sure.
Admittedly, the comic was a bit of a rush job in the beginning, and looking back on it in hindsight, I realized that it was never explained exactly how Vampire Hunter heard through the grapevine about Levana's existence . . . I guess we could chalk it up to either he and the mother of the little girl Levana babysat know each other, or they have a mutual friend, and either of them could've passed along the little girl's claims of her babysitter being a vampire to him out of amusement, only for him to take it far more seriously. And how serious is this going to get? We'll just have to wait and see.
