Strip VI: Holy Water Guns
J_Scarbrough onThis particular strip may or may not come off as a little dated today as well . . . I mean, in this day and age, there's actual websites for babysitter references, Vampire Hunter could've just as easily tried to look Levana up on any of them to dig up any info on her that he could (or maybe have Goofy Idiot Sidekick do it for him - something tells me he spends far more time on a computer than Vampire Hunter does anyway). But boy, he's really getting all of his (drunk) ducks in a row for this mission of theirs, isn't he? Do you happen to know which Crypt Keeper movie he's referencing? Leave your guesses in the comments! ;)
I just now realized I forgot to share a couple of pieces of trivia about Strip II. For one thing, just in case you were wondering, no, there is no actual webcomic called FURRY LESBIAN GAMERS. That was actually something of a in-joke to something my friend Kevin Magpoc once brought up in his comic IDGet (it too was used as something as a joke). For context, you can see for yourself in this particular IDGet strip.
Also, I would just like to point out that my thinking of making Levana a babysitter was purely as a means to give her something of a livelihood that would allow her to travel mostly by night (as opposed to a particularly suggestive verse from Jonathan Richman's song: "Is she in Heaven? Is she is Hell? Is she a sex industry professional?"), but I had absolutely no idea of the existence of a Disney Channel show at the exact same time called MY BABYSITTER'S A VAMPIRE . . . mainly because I hadn't had any reason to watch Disney Channel in a long time (and I mainly just watched for RECESS anyway). Talk about a wild coincidence!
Next week: all dressed up with no place to go?
