davechua onWell have some downtime after finishing an event, and bought Okami for the Wii 2nd hand, and am quite amazed at the beauty of the game.
Frankly, I suck at video games; I couldn't get past stage 3 in Ninja Gaiden, and even for the final battle in Devil May Cry 4 I was not able to quite complete it. Without walkthroughs I'm frequently stuck. Last game I finished was Tales of Vesperia, and I was utterly unable to unleash the super cool moves that the characters are supposed to have.
One thing I like about gameplay are the stories within the games. Vesparia has a lot of skits which are inconsequential to the plot, but show the interaction between the main characters. I don't skip cut scenes or plot scenes, as I like to be immersed in the story. Sometimes I think I don't mind just watching someone play as long as I can watch the plot. I used to play a lot of World of Warcraft, but only about an hour a day now as I wait for Wrath of the Lich King (Yes; what a waste of subscription fees), and I try to read all the quest text they throw at you.
So far I'm liking Okami's story. It's a beautiful concept and the writers didn't forget what was at the heart of it. Making both villagers and animals believe in the power of divinity again.
Oh anyway, back to the comic. Bruno gets messy with the knifes and co-workers. I'll talk about horror games in the future…
