Damn you, US government! I needed that hour!

Sorry about the lack of real pages this week, I've been scrambling to finish a rather involved project for Roman Civ (boo). What free time I had this weekend was spent seeing V for Vendetta with my boyfriend, since it was the last night to see it and he would quite literally have expired if he didn't get to go (or so he claimed).

There were a few previews for X-Men III and Superman, and the girl next to me spent the length of them bitching about how dumb comic book movies were. As she's waiting for V for Frickin' Vendetta to start. I reveled in the irony.

It was actually better than I expected. I can see where the critics would be a little disappointed with how black-and-white the story was (I'll admit it got a little heavy-handed in places), but if you watch it as an action flick rather than political commentary, it's quite clever. And the Guy Fawkes mask completely creeped out Andy. Ha. Wuss.

Another high point (you may want to take a moment to prepare yourself for the sheer blitzkreig of shameless fangirling…):

ZOMG!!!!!11 STEPHEN FRY!

I actually blurted this out in the theater when he came onscreen, earning a very dark look from the girl next to me. I love that man so damn much, and his character was so sweet and sad and cute as hell… Rawk. Stephen Fry.

All in all, enjoyable, and on Thursday I'll have a real page, and hopefully a real rant….
