Wake the Knight
Author notes
Chapter 02 - Cover
Lackshmana onAlright, the second issue. You will probably notice some changes to the art and writing with this issue, as I have had a good deal of time to (hopefully) improve since the first volume.
With Chapter 1, I was just trying to do a full 22 page comic for the first time. It was sort of an experiment to prove to myself that I could do it. Wake the Knight is itself an experiment for me to try and practice comic pages and storytelling.
I don't want to undersell the comic, because I really am trying to make it enjoyable and worth reading, but I hope readers understand that it is very much a work in progress. My style of drawing, the techniques I use, and the way I lay out panels is going to change throughout my work and I don't want people to be surprised as things develop. Similarly, the tone of the story and the personalities of the characters will likely get tweaked as I get a better handle on writing.
With Chapter 2, we will discover more about the world these characters inhabit, and the various forces at work which will drive the narrative. A big challenge for this issue will be to create distinct voices for the characters, so that they are not just walking around spouting exposition to move the plot forward.
I would greatly appreciate any critiques and constructive criticism, as these will only help me to improve.
Thanks to everyone reading Wake the Knight. Hopefully, I can make it worth your time to check out each week.
