The names have been changed to protect the innocent.
It was Gib (changed to Gil for this strip), one of the former owners of the Laughing Ogre comics shop in Columbus, Ohio, who first noted Bill's entirely unintentional resemblance to a well known porn star. It wasn't until one of the commenters on my Halloween strip last October also noted the resemblance that I decided to incorporate it into the strip itself.
Other people, by the way, have said that Bill resembles Saddam Hussein and Tony Isabella.
