DD Bonus Strip #5: Welcome Back, My Friends...

Though I drew this strip on Sunday, I showed remarkable restraint and actually waited until Wednesday to fill in the name, even though it was all but a foregone conclusion by that point.
The strip was inspired by the fact that practically every newscast on Sunday opened with something along the lines of "The longest campaign on record is almost over." Until it all starts all over again and sooner than we'd like. After all, GOP Vice Presidential punchline Sarah Palin has already gotten-an unartfully dodged-THE QUESTION, while John McLaughlin this week asked if Louisiana governer Bobby Jindal was the Republicans answer to Barack Obama. (Why? Because he's black? That's as bad as the McCain campaign thinking Hilary voters would flock to Palin just because she's a woman. Are the Republicans really that clueless?)
The above parenthetical phrase is an example of why I don't do political humor in my strip. It all just makes me too freakin' angry sometimes.
I do not actually consider this strip to be "political" at all. If anything, it's more cultural or social commentary, as the endless campaign has become a part of the American cultural landscape.
