Part of the reason I love being a cartoonist is that the process of the art form fascinates me to no end. When you strip away the layers in the final product, you come across these weird pieces that are practically their own artwork created inadvertently in the process. There were lots of other layer combinations I could have shown (including the Frank Miller-esque shading/highlights layers), but stuck with these to make it appear more procedural.
Yesterday was huge for Weird Adventures and to all the new readers out there, I welcome you. If you're confused, take a look at the comic from the beginning or hop around the archives. I try to keep the strip accessible in spite of the ongoing storyline, so treat yourself to a chuckle or two amidst the fog of "what the crap is he talking about?"
Have you seen Cloverfield? Man, that was intense.
Join us again tomorrow for the next installment. And remember that bonus materials get shuffled back to the gap between chapters, so be sure to stop by on the appropriate days.
Don't want to sign up for a DrunkDuck account (which you should) but still want to tell me how terrible/awesome I/the strip am/are? Drop me a line at brandon@brandonjcarr.com. I like e-mail.
