It doesn't matter what your religious, political, or personal views are - torturing and murdering an innocent person is wrong. Yet the world at large is perfectly content to look the other way while transgendered people are subjected to appalling treatment and brutality. In the year 2009, over 132 people have been killed due to anti-transgender hatred. Still more cases were simply never reported. These people had lives, dreams, friends, and families. Many were children or young adults in their early twenties. None of them deserved to die, and none of them will ever be forgotten.

(Incidentally, this picture features a character that has yet to appear in the comic, Ivy. She'll probably show up sometime after chapter two. The scene depicted takes place prior to Ivy's arrival in WUSA.)
