dotcrossbuns onShell has been looking overly aggressive and dramatic because there were particular things I wanted to practice drawing. The first panel is inspired by this Rex Morgan, M.D. strip.
The conclusions she's drawing here seem rather abrupt, but since she and Disk can't hear each other's thoughts, they would realize this is different.

Shell: I know about telepaths. You're not one of the "I'm so powerful and awesome and I'm going to walk all over you all the time" kind, are you?
Cat: No.
Shell: Okay, so does that mean you're the "I'm oppressed, miserable and whiny" kind?
Cat: I can't find any lasagna. Does that count as oppression?
Shell: Er… I take it you're the stupid talking animal sidekick, then, or maybe the designated "quirky" character. Or both. That's… better, I guess.
Cat: I'm not stupid. I can do math.
Shell: Really.
