I was lucky enough to have a local PBS station that showed all kinds of sci-fi, and then started showing anime before it hit the mainstream. I watched pretty much all of the old Doctor Who when I was a kid, plus Red Dwarf and anime like Robotech and Key the Metal Idol later on. Channel 54 was a huge part of my childhood. I really need to make time to go back and watch the old Doctor Who, because there was some incredible stuff in among the goofy rubber masks. Looking at my #DalekSlak tweets again I feel like I ought to do more too.
