#28: Girl Armor

For better or for worse ready the Go Make Me a Sandwich blog really changed how I look at how female characters are portrayed in games. (It also made me that much more pleased that my Octavia character doesn’t show any skin at all from the neck down.) Male characters can look outlandish at times, but female characters just routinely show more skin and have “girly” poses. Like in the aforementioned game for work, female thieves start wearing bikini tops after a while, and female cat-people sort of mince around all the time.

Also, it amuses me how in some Western games armor magically changes to match the wearer. It’s easy to imagine a female warrior beating an enemy and trying to put on his sensible plate armor only to be disappointed to have it magically transform into boob plate the moment she puts it on.
