Hello, hello!

And here we come upon our little leapers' hiding place and lair! What is it, I wonder, what sort of place that is safe enough to store stolen food?

We'll find out next time!

Also, I have prepared for you the history snippets and one extra little text, which JNP said he'll put up asap BUT-

since yesterday was August 15, NOT ONLY a very important religious day for Greece commemorating the Virgin Mary's Dormition, but also a very important anniversary of WWII for Greece, I thought I'd tell you what exactly, and give you some pics to look at from the time.

On August 15, 1940, BEFORE Greece entered war, the Italians (well, the fascists) torpedoed Elli, a light cruiser of the Hellenic Navy which had been docked in the island of Tinos for the celebrations of the religious anniversary (August 15 is the Greek 'summer Easter holiday', to give you a feel of just how important the religious festivities are and were).

It was the first real herald that Greece wouldn't avoid the war despite trying in vain to keep her neutrality. More of that in the history section when it's up :)

So click here to go to a short review of what happened and a picture not only of the cruiser herself, but the moment of its being torpedoed.

See you next time!
