Understanding Greeks is a quick run-through of the Hellenic culture, our strong suit and the weak suit.
History in Brief is a quick (as quick as I could make it) summary of what took place in Greece up until the end of WWII. It's got pictures from the middle and on, which might amuse you. I hope you check it out and tell me what you think!… you know, someday. :p
—Now, about today's update…—
Finally, here comes Anna, the last of Fotis' group (or is it Basil's group? XD) and the reveal of their hideout!
What you see is part of an old (and currently shut down by nazis) distillery in the heart of downtown Athens, in its most ancient section called Plaka (it's directly under the Acropolis, literally built on or grown from the ruins and one of the most beautiful places in Athens), with its special barrel rack for the distilled stuff, mainly ouzo and such strong beverages.
This place actually exists! Though for the purposes of this story I will refrain from naming it (as it is necessary that it remains an abandoned distillery for this story), anyone who lives in Athens will recognise this to be part of Vrettos' distillery in Plaka. It's been active for more than 100 years, used also as a boite when the distillery grew and had to change venues for producing liquor. The original place after the actually distillery moved was turned into a boite of sorts ever since. Now it is an official boite/club where you can literally drink ANY cocktail you wish and a vast array of liquor types including Absinthe. Vrettos distillery is one of the two oldest beverage selling places in Europe! It still produces ouzo, by the way!
I still need of course to work on my backgrounds, but I am fairly happy with my first rendition of the kids' hideout!
Also, this was done with a new tablet I am breaking in, which I got for my birthday. :3 I am 32 years old now! (practically ancient! :P)
Lastly, ÃŽâ„¢ must say I'd had this page ready since last week, but I didn't put it up, because I had run out of time for making the page for today, and so I would again miss a Monday- and I'd run the risk of missing several Mondays in a row and I don't want that. So I kept this for today, and am pleased to say the next one is half-way ready, and we're on schedule.
I hope you all don't mind this. I also don't know whether I should take down last Monday's filler or leave it up or transfer it. I have however answered your comments there in the comment section.
