Potential scaries?

One thing I have noticed is all the scariest monsters don't cut their toenails…
I mean sure monsters don't HAVE to have good hygiene but you'd think they would try and avoid the pain of ingrown toenails. I'm sure ingrowns wouldn't help them chase helpless frightened people away… They'd be more hobbling painfully and whimpering while attempting to keep a scary face.
