Happy Saint George's Day

To all my English friends (and everyone else), HAPPY SAINT GEORGE'S DAY (April 23rd).

About 11 years back (when I lived in England), my friend Thommo and I were talking about St Patrick's day. How, in the U.S. everyone was Irish on that day and it was a big party. A time for everyone to just get together and have fun.

We wondered why England didn't do the same thing for her patron saint. So, we had a big party at our local "The Tap & Spile" on Tower Street in Harrogate, England. Everyone dressing in costumes that represented England.

It was meant to be a pro-England day but not a "anti-anybody else" day. Great fun. Local paper covered it and everything.

So, now every year on April 23rd, I remember my friends from Yorkshire and have a pint. :)
