jerrie - Thanks :) Pretty sure you and I read the same comics and watched the same movies and television shows as kids.

SophieD - Glad you liked the Omegan Survivors.  Most of my characters go back to when I was drawing in high school or before.  
The details are set in my mind for some of this stuff, the challenge is getting them out on to the paper.  The U.E.S. Hunter, is almost a real ship in my imagination.  Can't say I know every deck plate, close though.
This story "From the Fires of Hell" is not the begining for the Maniac.  Just his first adventure on Earth.  His life span is unknown and in the Adventures in Outer Space he is a reoccurring character set way in the future, where he is much calmer.
There are a lot of liberties taken with science fact to present the stories hopefully in an interesting way.  The big fight at the end with Barnock is straight out of something Kirk would do.  Hey, I grew up on Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, etc.
