Okay, some news.

Yup, as some of you may already know, I got engaged on Christmas Day! I'm still in shock. Rick hid the ring in my stocking and proposed practically first thing Xmas morning… before I even had my coffee! I'll forgive him tho, it was really sweet. Now I have to get my head around planning a wedding? wha—–? All I know is a white poofy wedding dress will NOT be coming anywhere near me.

Next up, a guest piece I did for the webcomic "Calamities of Nature" was selected to be in the top 3 for the holidays. Yay! Go check it out, and check out Tony Piro's great comic if you haven't already.. features MORE aliens!!! We should start a club.

And the third news tidbit is an interesting rejection letter I just got back. This syndicate actually took the time to jot down a note for me, which I always appreciate. #1: my art is too detailed, and I agree. I'm going to be trying to cutback some of the detail and simplify the lineart and grays from now on. But #2 was interesting. Apparently, the tone of Z&F is too close to Doonsbury. I found that to be an odd comparison, but then I realized that the submission that was returned with this letter was just the political storyline I sent in to the 3 syndicates who STILL had my original submission from April, as a BONUS submission. It's possible whoever wrote that comment thought that was the only humor I do- lefty-leaning political humor. They still have my original submission, so I have no clue where that leaves me. But I figured I'd share.

Everyone take it easy on New Year's Eve, and drive safely. I may or may not be able to get the next update up by Thursday… at the latest, it'll be up on Friday, tho.
