I did get homesick especially during the first couple of years as a new immigrant. Its depressing.

After awhile, you just get used to it. I dont think about it anymore.

But now I enjoy Tagalog films more than the Hollywood films that have more special effects. This time I pay attention more to the background. It somewhat connects me to my home country. Its hard to explain in words but yes I do feel a connection when I see scenes that show familiar places in Manila. Or when I see those thick forests and wooden makeshift houses that are commonplace in those movies.

There's no place like home. :)

The only time I got home sick was when I spent a week in another state with out my family. I got really depressed, and called my family every day. ;_; But I got home, and got over it, so its all cool.

Not really, but that's probably because my family's always around me whenever I go. The only times they weren't was for school trips and I wasn't away for long enough to get the homesick feeling

Spent 2 years away from home. After living in Texas for so long I was getting homesick. I wasn't happy trading scenes of a vast ocean of water for scenes of a vast ocean of sand. :(

Not really. I usually see my parents at least a couple times a year. The first major holiday I spent without them was sort of tough. – And I miss my cat.

I do sometimes, just because I miss my family and my best friends, who I only get to see three months out of the year these days. But hey, those three months are coming up, so it's all good.

Well, since I still live at home, I haven't had the opportunity. As soon as I move away for college, though, I'm sure I'll be calling home every night.

Nope. I'm one of those people who can feel at home wherever they are. Apparently most people find it really obnoxious. Oh well.

I don't get homesick. Typically, I'm not anywhere I want to be anyway.

Nope. It helps when you hate where you live.

I left my home country in 2002, the first months were great and everything was new and interesting, then the next year was pretty much a hell of trying to learn a language when you failed every language class you've ever had before. The Christmases were the worst.

Just give it time, time seems to fix a lot of things that don't seem like they can be fixed.

Not now….

But my 1st month in the Air Force, wow…. but I think that was a whole shock to my system. Home is where I am… I might miss my family from time to time, but when I do see them it makes it that much better!! :)

I now live with two of the bestest friends I could ever have, 1800 miles away from my family, who live in OREGON. I've been away for nearly a year now, and I do feel a little lonely time and again. It's hard, the longest time I've ever really been AWAY from my parents is when I traveled to Mexico, Kentucky and South Korea. It was only two weeks a piece mind you, but I still felt alone.

Ever since I became homeless (about two years ago) I just…grew apart. Plus I seem to get along with my parents better, farther away.

It's all good though, I'm going on a trip this Fathers day to spend a whole week with family!

I'm sure I'll miss them, but as long as I know they're alive and OKAY then I'm okay!
