For those confused, here is a translation:

"Ever feel…"
"That you try your hardest to make your comic, and it's passed by?"

Sometimes it can be difficult to get recognition, sometimes moreso on a site so full of comics like Drunk Duck. It's hard to get noticed especially if you are just starting. This is why everyone tells everyone else that "you should do comics because you want to, not because you want recognition." It's to avoid disappointment. :) Rest assured that every comic has its fans… they may not show up right away but if you can get people to keep looking some will stay. :)

I think about the only reason to put a comic on the internet is because you want somebody to read it. I tried to fool myself into thinking my comic was just about getting the drawing practice… but when Drunk Duck went down and suddenly there weren't any good places to post your comic AND get feedback in a comments section, it brought the whole purpose of my comic into question.

Feedback is really important, because a webcomic becomes a lot of work for just the author to enjoy.

The nice thing about webcomics is that the ones who really do try seem to rise to the top. You stick your URL in a few places, and if you're really making something worth reading, word of mouth takes care of the rest.

Best way to get noticed is to advertise!

Post up your comic in the HELWID! forum. Comment on other people's comics, too. Usually, if you comment on someone else's, they will come visit yours and comment you as well.

Don't get discouraged! It might take time for you to get noticed, but keep at it, and stay active around the site. People will take notice to you and get curious as to what comics you do if you are seen around the site a lot.

I wouldn't say I try my hardest, butI do try and my comic's rank for readership keeps falling, so yeah, I know what that's like.

I know how you feel, man. It really does make my day when I get comments on my comics. Knowing that somewhere out there I'm making someone giggle, or at least providing them with some sort of entertainment really drives me to update more frequently than I would have done otherwise. I'm not saying it's the reason that I do my comics, but it helps to motivate me.

When I post a new page and don't get any comments, it's kinda depressing. Ya try your hardest…and it seems like no one notices. Shucks.

I think people do notice your comics, or perhaps they browse through them. Not everyone will leave comments, though. It happens. There are many things you can do to catch people's eyes and draw them to your comic :)
