Welcome to DD. Don't worry about the mind maggots, they don't exist.

Brain-slugs do exist, though, so worry about them.

Welcome! Yes, this is a good site to practice your artistic abilities, and we're all pretty friendly so if you ever need a hand in understanding the site you can usually just ask.

And don't worry about the strangeness you'll find in the forums. The people here aren't quite "right" if you know what I mean. :)
