I'm Anthony and I joined purely for my love of comics and the huge variance in styles, themes and the way in which they are delivered to the public.

I also write stories that one day I would like to adapt into comic serials, but I can't draw.

And I can't afford to commission an artist for this, both financially and because I feel my ideas would be spoiled. i.e. The characters, setting and theme is differently to that I imagined.

So, things about me. I reside in Derby, England. I listen to post-hardcore, prog, drum 'n' bass and anything else musically catchy or technical. My all time favourite comic is the Spawn Armageddon series.

You can probably find someone willing to work on a webcomic for free if you look around enough.

Welcome to the Duck! I would say that you've hit on the hardest part of collaborative projects. Everyone sees things differently. However, if you have some good solid stories and clear descriptions, you might be surprised at how close some artists can get to your visions. OR you might find that someone has a different vision that is equally awesome.

Regardless, good luck with your work, and I hope you have a great time on the Duck! (Also, I totally couldn't draw when I started my story, but improvement comes quickly if you're willing to work for it. Now my art can pass as "service-able." ^.^)

I was born and brought up there, although I have since moved down to The Smoke. The place seems just a distant memory now; I can scarcely recall…

Osmaston road? What - up the Carnwood St, end or further out towards Reginald St.?

No, no. I live in an apartment above a shop on The Spot.

I literally live in the center of derby. Just round the corner from the new shopping center.

Nope, there is a society set up to protect them so they can't close them till the courts say so.

And yes, Nicky's fish bar is still open, and they have expanded the restaurant too.

But they've expanded the prices too, which is a shame.

The Spot Bogs Preservation Society eh? I must look into that - although I was always an outside Debenhams man myself, many were the romantic evenings that started with a rendezvous at the Spot Bogs, and I hope that tradition continues:

Let's say you meet a girl on friday night and you've plucked up the courage to ask her out on saturday. To your delight she agrees, but where to meet? The Spot Bogs at eight you say!
Is she disgruntled that you've asked to meet her outside a public lavatory? Certainly not! - the mere fact that you've chosen to meet her at Derby's premier public lavatory, in full view of the gathering horde, shows her that you're serious - you're proud to be seen with her on your arm aside the Spot Bogs and you don't care who knows it!
Imagine your exitement as you prepare for the evening ahead: freezing winter night notwithstanding, you don your thin white shirt with sleeves rolled high and dismiss the notion of wearing a jacket. You know that likewise, despite the settling frost, she'll be squeezing into an outfit that's little more than bra and knickers and leaving all coats resolutely hanging in the wardrobe.
This calls for a trip to Sadler Gate, but will you have enough left over for a Nicky's take out?

Edit: somebody help - I'm trapped in a flashback nightmare!

Hello and welcome to the duck. Spawn is good stuff… I have an original signed script (I collect scripts) from one of the series. Also, laughing man is one of my favorite characters in anime… nice :D

BTW, Amanda's comic is amazing fun… highly recommended that you check it out.
