sounds like it was pretty awesome.

i'm hoping next year to not just attend for the first time but also to be presenting my comic realated stuff.

No, I was in San Diego. And I can prove it. For example, here's a picture of me attending Scott McCloud's "Making Comics" preview panel– taken by McCloud's kid Winter herself, no less:
