This is the place to post your questions and/or concerns regarding the Drunk Duck Civil War Nontest!

OK I'll bite. :)

Say a character has signed up with the Civil War. So if they just do a picture of their own character (which they might have on hand anyway if it's a character they've used before) or fan art of another participating character, they could submit it?

PG-13?

And I'm going to be the annoying person who asks about colour. So colour, no colour, or doesn't matter?

Only still images or animation okay?

Good Question ^_^
Entries are not limited to only Zac or Riot. It's anything Civil War related. So any side characters or events are okay.

And though we'd like people to create original art, it's okay to reformat any previous Civil War art that YOU'VE created.

Black Kitty> Any and all art is welcome. It's up to the artist. In terms of rating, there isn't "really" a restriction, but I doubt the judges will choose anything overly graphic.

hmmm… animation. Well if you wanna do it, go ahead. Platinum Studios Mobile does have the capability to deliver content in that format. (as long as it's .gif)

Should/could we include any text in the image? And, is there any specifications for background? ie. solid color or white or whatever we want?

Also, I don't have anything that can open a .psd file, is there any other way I could see the template? :p

So, it sounds like the answer to Black_Kitty's question was:

Yes. Black and White is Ok.

Right? So in that case, do they have to be inked and in strict B&W? Do pencil drawings or grey scale images even have a chance, or is that a matter of judges personal preference?

Gosh guys, hope I didn't come across as THAT harsh.

To answer those questions: Any media, any style, any colors. It's up to you. The only specs are:
Image content is somehow tied to the DD civil war event
500 X 500 pixel image size
JPG or gif format

Suzi: you are free to put any text you'd like on there. Just keep in mind that 500 X 500 is huge on a computer screen, but think about how small that'll get on a phone screen (see there's the challenge!)

The file is a PSD becuase it's layered but I think I can demostrate the same point with:

What about the people with scanners, getting it to EXACTLY 500x500 is pretty hard, Do you have any tips?

Most image editing programs will let you crop, resize, etc. :)

Glarg: as long as it's a square image, we don't have a problem sizing that if needed.

WITHIN REASON, we don't mind doing a little formatting if a winning entry isn't quite right. I was being firm on those specs so that I wouldn't be getting crazy rectangular entries.

Also I redid a better example pic above. It shows that just becuase there is a 100 pixel "crop" margin around the whole image, you can still put non essential art elements in there.

And remember if you use text it needs to be BIG becuase that large image is getting shrunk down to phone screen size.

Seriously I think the whole MOBILE PHONE aspect of this is making people over stress or nervous. Don't be, should be fun, heck it is fun! Put your civil war art on a 500 X 500 square and make sure no essential design elements are within 100 pixels of the edge. (it's really THAT easy)

I entered my pictures on time on Friday, but I only read the competition description on the main thread and I wasn't aware about the 100 pixel border thing. Is there any way I can re-enter my pictures allowing for this border or is it all over? I understand if that's out of the question.
