well, i'm sitting here, reading through the many threads of the dd forum, drinking coke out of a eurodisneyland promotional cup i found at the back of the cupboard because i couldnt be bothered to wash the dishes and started wondering…

what is the laziest thing you guys have ever done?

i thought this may be interesting as there a lot of comic authors here with responsibility, what can you guys get away with?

Sleeping for almost 24 hours once was pretty damn lazy. Though it was partially induced by jetlag, I really could've gotten up earlier….

When I young, I worked at Toys R Us. Toys R Us has a really obnoxious inventory system. Every item in the store is traceable to a particular shelf in the warehouse. This sounds great until you realize that you need a scanner gun to pull anything off the shelf. Needless to say, most employees were too lazy to do this, so audits had to be done constantly.

Well, one day the audits were like several days behind, and the store manager told me that he would have other employees cover my regular work if I would audit THE ENTIRE STOREROOM. What I discovered, however, was that my boss had been doing the audits all week and simply forgot to clear them in the system. So basically, I told the computer to clear all of the previous audits and it dropped the scale of work significantly. Instead of being behind on hundreds of shelves, were only behind like 40.

40 was still considered a high number, but it was significantly smaller than the number of audits I was originally slated to do, and it was enough that I figured I could get away with horsing around for the rest of the day. So basically, I just pretended to work, talked to customers, and had a pretty good time. I must have spent four hours alone in the action figure aisle!

The only consequence of doing what I did was that the inventory system was four or five days behind, because I was finalizing audits that had been taken as many as four or five days prior. But the thing is, the inventory was ALWAYS inaccurate, and there were enough alternate culprits of inventory sabotage that I didn't really have to worry about being fingered for the inaccuracies.

When my shift came to an end, I got called into the office, and the store manager goes, "Let's see how many audits you got done. When he saw that only 40 audits remained, his eyes popped open wildly, and he went, "WOW! I didn't even expect you to get through half of them! Good job, Neil!!!" I even got employee of the month out of that one day!

Since that day, I figured out that my department manager apparently didn't understand the inventory system, so he never really knew that he was doing it wrong, but I continued to take advantage of his mistakes.

It was the greatest day day of work I've ever had. I did absolutely nothing.

"Use the Force." If my roommate and I are on the couch and can't reach something we will reach out our hands and squint like we are trying to use the force to bring it to us. This continues until the least lazy person in the room gets and and gets the object to make the other people shut up.

i've done that before…only i imagine myself as spiderman

When I was a store supervisor, I used to walk around with a clipboard, drawing cartoons on the 2nd page. If anyone came near, the top page was a partially-completed inventory sheet.

I think I used the same one for like.. 6 months.

Chuck, Ryan, and I once watched the menu screen for Girl Next Door for two hours while we waited for Chuck's wife and Ryan's girlfriend to go to the store and buy us pie.

That's a hard one for me… I'm always lazy.. but I guess it was when I was so lazy that I chose not to read my SAT book (I read it later anyways… but still).

Nothing.

lol!!

although every waking moment of my life is an act of laziness (today I said, and I wasn't even kidding, "I wish I didn't have legs. Then I wouldn't have to walk around" ) yesterday I laid in bed and stared at the ceiling for two hours. I didn't even mean to! I just didn't feel like moving.

I think I won. Also I sometimes sleep for more than 20 hours at a time.

Besides all the homework assignments gone "missing", my refusal to heat up cold food, and my artwork.. XD

.. Nevermind. I was going to offer an example of a lazy thing I do at work, but the list goes on. .. And on.

I've managed to procrastinate an IT project until it was six month over due. So I've put something off for a year.

I once played PS2 for 3 days straight. That was pretty lazy if I do say so myself.

now, a big reason why I struggled passing my chemistry class last year. I would do the work, I'd understand it and help other students. The next day would come when the assignment was due… I wouldn't turn it in. :) Same goes for this year. I do the work, I just don't turn it in.

(Note: my I key is a bitch)

In year 10, I found that my maths teacher and my science teacher didn't care that I spent all lesson drawing. In fact, they would come and see what I was drawing and tell me I was good at it. So I spent all year in maths and science drawing. I actually got a B for science, and maybe even a B for maths, I don't remember.

I constantly ask my sister to get me stuff. We'll both be watching TV or something, downstairs, and I'll ask her to go get me something from upstairs. AND SHE DOES. :D

My room is set up so that I can comfortably live in bed for about 3 days without leaving.
And yes, I tested it, but only got up to a day and a half before the one thing missing became all to apparent.

A shower.
