Atril: Good Guy, Bad Guy, or Just Another Mad Scientist?

Posted at

I realize that Atril is a somewhat confusing character. He is my character so he MUST be a good guy…right? Well, it's not entirely out of my persona to have my character as a bad guy either. So what do you guys think? Good, Bad or Ugly?

Use this thread to discuss ANYTHING about Atril.

Your character: Goodish, evilish.
My character: Goodish, evilish.

In the author notes, Rentorian brings up a good point about our subject…why would he destroy Cain, the most knowledgeable of the Gathering when Atril STUDIES magic for a living?

Lets get something going on that…what's your opinion?

Some characters don't really follow good guy bad guy molds. Heck I wouldn;t sya that ANY of the characters I've made are really good or evil. They follow the golden path of whatever the Hell they feel like doing at the time.

As for Atril I think he just wants to learn things, and he doesn't care about much else. Kind of a 'The ends justify the means' guy.

Kind of a 'The ends justify the means' guy.

Thats actually really close to his underlying personality. Really close to MY underlying personality. Though (to help spurt the conversation along) technically that justifies an evil/chaotic act (at least in D&D terms).

actually, in DnD terms that would most likely be a Chaotic Neutral personality. C/E would be destruction and suffering just for the sake of destruction and suffering and not really caring about any benefits (unless it can help cause more destruction and suffering)

MY charactor is pretty much like yours. Just yours takes a far more active role in his goals while mine takes a more passive approach and lets others do what he needs (whether they realize it or not) and takes action when he believes its necessary to do so.

The line between those two are not clear anymore…
You can be a good guy but attain it in a bad way or there are some bad guys who do good occasionally…
In Atril's case, do with what you have since you wont get anything…

Truth fully flantics you haven`t gevein us any thing. Except that when a threat rises he responds. like with chaos and cenos. no one knows what he was upto before that. there for we don`t know if he is good or bad. i mean he risked his life and others just to destroy a threat to him so this is my question to flantics is he good, bad or missguided to just become human again.

OK if Atril is a guy 'The ends justify the means' that make him someone with perception of good and bad meaning that he have morals but that he do what needs to do making him that have guts but some way maybe a can making him some obssesive that can easly making someone dangerous, chaotic and even Bad.

Morals = Good
Obssesive = Posibility of Bad

Well i need to read a little more of your char to really help to define him.
For the moment is a "Good Guys with guts that maybe can become evil".
