It's probably past time I did this… if you want to be involved here's where you sign up your characters. The circumstances for this one are going to be a bit different than the usual, so keep that in mind when signing up.
Basically the whole thing takes place on the HU base, any character involved is either living on the base (they've had quarters put in), is visiting to CONSIDER moving in, or is already on base to wrap up or to begin a mission.

I would have submitted Bushido for this, but you already have two martial arts characters, so a Samurai would probably be one too many - even if he did have time-travelling and magic powers! But, oh well…

Powers: The ability to absorb, mix and alter the powers of any heroes (or villains) he is in close proximity with.
Reason for being on base: Under close observation and tests by the base's scientists to make sure he doesn't pose a threat to the team, maybe he can put his talents to good use if the team would just trust him…?
Sadly, being just a lowly writer, I have no character sketches for Amalgam. But the way I see it, he looks pretty normal (costume-aside, of course) and only looks like something more than normal when he's absorbing powers, which I envision as wispy multicolored smoky tendrils running from the hero's body to his fingertips.
Maybe we can come up with something next time we get to chat…?

Description: A 7ft tall golem made out of metal. Is mute, and only communicates through growls and roars.

Reason for being on base: Wrapping up a mission, having minor repairs before heading back to Australia
Name: Jacob Lieber
Description: Average looking Man of Polish decent in his early 30s
Powerset: Has no actual power, but is the one who controls Syd, using a communicator and computer screen. The screen shows what Syd is seeing, while the communicator is used to issue commands to Syd through speakers located inside Syd's head. (The is not needed if Syd and Jacob are in close enough proximity)
Reason for being on base: Was commanding Syd from the base for the duration of the mission Syd was just on, and will be returning to Australia once they are done wrapping up.

Thanks for the responses. Everybody is accepted so far. We'll do artist sign ups and a thread to explain character motivations and such (like abt did…I'm pretty much following his lead here).
I'm not sure when I can write the script…so far I only have a vague idea of what's happening in the next few HU's so I'm not sure if I should write one using assumptions, which could very well make an ass out of you and me. I think I could…but out of caution I'm waiting a bit.
SympleSymon: SILENCE WRITER! But yeah sure we can brainstorm. I can't really get into the DA chats at the moment, but that should change eventually.
Abt: or does it sound INCREDIBLY RIGHT!? More wrong, probably, but whatever. I was actually planning on using bombshell pretty extensively…whenever I do run throughs of the plot in my head her back-and-forths with the commander come really easily to me.

rt, (this is when it gets 'back to the future'-ish…) The terrorist men jordan borrowed a special fuel from came to kill jordan, throwing a gernade at the one and only inside door of secret 'secure' house (unknown area)..it ends up going at j'kwons face.Reacting, he puts his hands up…soon j'kwon becomes something of a boinic man…with the parts and technology of what jordans been working on! annnnnnd as a surprise, jordan whants j'kwon to be a hero, buuut… j'kwon thinks other wise..(sorry,i dont think this was a summary)

I have some heroes. One I like best, but I thought I'd include others who straddle between hero and villain for a completely different feel.
Split (Amber Sees)
She traps the souls of the deceased into her own consciousness, which manifest as alternate personalities with all their memories and proclivities, including whatever powers they retained in life. The personality in control interacts with the others through reflective surfaces, though nobody around her (besides telepaths and the like) can hear them. Amber also knows a bit of Tai Chi. She is quite shy and reserved, though still tries to show herself that she can be more than she is.
Her absorbed personalities: George, her brother who died at 12, when she was 10–he manipulates water and is brash, homophobic and headstrong. He is not versed in hand-to-hand combat and would prefer guns, water blasts and dehydrating the enemy over getting in close. When he does get in close, he's a brawler. There is also Jen, a girl Amber tried and failed to save from a rapist. Jen has no powers, but she's burning with anger and isn't afraid to use Amber's sword for deadly purposes.
Amber is a fledgling superhero at 18. She has come to the base for immersion and training, to try and make herself a better hero and not be distracted from the day to day in the rest of the world. Her vices can be difficult to tamp down, however, as she often escapes into TV, the Internet or just books, at the expense of getting to know anyone around her, in a large part because she is transsexual (male to female) and this has lessened her ability to feel confident around others. Also as an orphan with no knowledge of her birth family or the origin of her powers (both of which may be divulged by me if one wishes), as well as the fact that people see her as crazy often, she further finds it difficult to find community.
Please note that the cat is because of a different version of her, where she has a boyfriend that can change into mythological beasts. He does not have to be in this reality.

Tempore is policeman serving perfect order and patrols many universes. His allegiances do not fall anywhere else, making him at times friend, foe or both.
reason for being on base: Only if there's a temporal anomaly that he must take care of.
Team: Seraphim
Members: Sea Embers (water and fire manipulation), Phobia (fear manipulation), Zhia (super strong four-armed centaur with warrior training), Bind (creates mystical ropes from the air to bind opponents), Lash (is in possession of a mystical whip that never misses its mark and never leaves her grasp)
Sea Embers is the leader, with Phobia as his second, and Zhia in the third place. The twins Bind and Lash are more of the pawns, and are closer to each other than siblings should be.
The Seraphim are a group of like-minded "heroes" that believe in nothing less than hard Biblical morality. They believe that super-powered beings are appointed their powers by God and fall into two groups: angels, who follow Biblical code to the letter, and demons, who are looser in their interpretation of morality.
