Artist Seeks Writer for Short Project

Posted at

By short, I mean anywhere from five to twenty pages. Short. Something that could be completed in a month or two satisfactorily.
I'd prefer a fantasy or (even better!) horror story where I could really flex my fantasy muscles and depend on my pacing skills, etc. I won't do porn or excessive gore. I do enjoy drawing skulls, though - especially turtle skulls (they're cute). Ahem.
The best way to work is to do a full collaboration. In a perfect world, you would come up with a bare bones-minimum script and wouldn't be so attached to it that you wouldn't mind me helping edit and even add ideas. I'd then produce character designs that you could at least agree to. …I do get attached to my character designs, so I may be a baby about that process. I get really cool ideas for hair cuts and whatnot and then get shot down. Enough to break a silly artist's heart. Anyway, after we collaborate on that, I'd do the storyboards, ensure they showed off the story perfectly, and we'd hit the road with pencils and whatnot.
As for what I can bring to the table, I do everything traditionally. I would be using your traditional pencil and ink techniques to do basic bare bones. If you prefer color, I have colored pencils, markers, watercolours, water-soluable pencils that turn into colored ink, gouache, and acrylics. I personally like ink washes in all gray, but that is open for debate. I've been drawing for eight years and would like to think my technical skill at least passes muster.
Besides a willingness to collaborate equally down the middle (even allowing for my love of character design), you would hopefully be an encouraging cheerleader, much as I would be for you. You'd be able to communicate your thoughts well and be a team player.
Even if you're none of what I described here, ask me to look over your script/idea anyway. I occasionally surprise myself in what I find interesting.

I know, I'm sorry I'm so demanding.

I run a comunity project called lite bites which is crying out for people like yourself.

We have a few scripts hanging around as well as various ideas that I have.  My scripts tend to be a little loose and I never mind a little interpretation, scripts from others depends on the writer.
Most scripts are by Gunwallace such as this story which is part two of an ongoign seriel and we're looking for an artist for part four at the moment.
Most of the fun of collaborations is seeing what the other person brings to the table.
I have a few imcomplete scripts, including a few fairly traditional horrors, a story about the pitfalls of picking up hookers and such.

Frankly, something like "O Susanna" would be right up my alleyway. That's JUST the kind of thing I would love to do.

Could we PQ about this? I'm really interested.
