Im broke, need a scanner and havent updated in a month. That sucks.

I heard that walmart has a five finger discount on scanners.

If you need a nice, inexpensive scanner that does it's job and is pretty damn cheap, then try buying the Canon CanoScan LiDE 25. I got it for fifty dollars three years ago and it hasn't failed me once.

Places like Kinkos can scan stuff, too, but in the long run I bet that gets expensive. I'd say look out for rebates and sales, if you are picky you can get one for pretty cheap.
