I wouldnt pick a very known actress for it, as she'll be covered with make up and all. THat would save us few millions, heh! Ill pick someone that made few indies prolly. I have no name in mind tough.

You know who works well in makeup and is still amazingly gorgeous? Rebecca Romijn, who played Mystique in the X-Men movies.

I don't know why, but Sabrina Lloyd comes to mind. I was a big fan of Sliders up until they killed off all the good characters and replaced them with cheap rip-offs. Sabrina Lloyd plays Wade Welles.

She's got a great look. I don't think I've seen anything she's been in, but I have friends who are big fans of Numb3rs, so if she's on that, that probably speaks well of her abilities. :)

What about Eva Green? Recently of Casino Royale and The Golden Compass? I'm not sure if she's tough enough, but I think she's got the right "look".

FWIW, I agree about Sabrina Lloyd - she'd be tough enough and can be subtle when it's called for - great talent for going undercover like Kai and occasionally communicating huge tension without overacting. Good choice.

But I can't say I know Eva Green's work so it's not a clear choice.

the only movie I saw that starred Eva Green is "The Dreamers", so I'm not sure what to think.

PS: I hated "The Dreamers".. awful, awful movie.

Hmm. I've never even heard of it. But, she was good in Casino Royale and The Golden Compass (though her part in the latter was pretty small).

She was definitely great in Casino Royale, and she looked great in the trailer for Golden Compass (which I haven't yet seen). I could definitely see Eva Green as Kai, as long as she's not allergic to prosthetics.

Right. Of course, with prosthetics, we could really get just about anybody to play Kai and it wouldn't really matter.

Yeah, the look is probably less important than the skill in this case–and, of course, the voice. Which is a whole other question: what do you imagine Kai's voice sounding like? I'm not sure I know!

What's funny is that I don't find her all that attractive until she puts on those blue scales and yellow contact lenses. Then she really does something for me. I need to stop drawing nekkid monster ladies, I think. It's starting to rot my brain.

Kai needs to be done by Charlize Theron. She's gorgeous as all hell and can act like the dickens. If anyone can project emotions through a full face of latex makeup, it would be Charlize Theron.
