surpressing an explosion from a technical standpoint really isnt that complex. one big trick is elasticity. the harder something tries to retain its shape, the harder it is to destroy. and usually the harder it is to make whole after it sunders. but what if for one ponderously thick instant, every atom in the radius of the blast was forced to once again regain it's original position in the wake of the blast? you would attain a state of quantum invincibility, and you would have an explosion that was nothing more than a matter ripple. :)
